This computer desktop, I've designed and built, in the winter of 1999,
partly because of my health concerns. I had a major neck pain problem from
using graphic design intensive software applications which caused me to lean
forward close to the screen to see details of the work. I decided to create
a stand that wouldn't let this happen anymore and as a result this is what I
came up with. As you could see, the monitor stand is tilted some 45 degrees
toward the user - causing the screen of the monitor to come to a parallel
level point with the back of the chair. Viewing the screen at this angle
automatically, gravitationally (under the head's weight), pulls the head
back, therefore disallowing the lean forward attempts for long periods.
Problem solved, everybody is happy :) No more pain in the neck.
The drawers of the desk cabinet are designed to look like a stack of cards -
progressively bent, looking as the tails of peafowl birds (when opened).
